Soapmaking with Dei Xhrist
Learn how to make your own soap. Sound like a cute little crafty thing to do to meet your holiday gift giving obligations? It’s not; not only will you learn a little Chemistry, you’ll learn about taking an active and responsible role in your personal short and long term health, and ultimately break away from a century of product marketing that has increased cancer, birth defects, environmental damage, and distorted self esteem. Intro to basic low investment tools, cold process soap making demo using lye and vegetable oil, samples of soap.

Healthy Eating with Michelle Parsons
Learn how to make quick and healthy weeknight meals. For this demonstration, Michelle will be preparing Asian Glazed Chiken Thighs, Jasmine Brown Rice, a vegetable, and Amazing Flourless Brownies for dessert. Sounds delish, we think so!

Visual Scores with Walter Wright
Visual scores use the elements and attributes of 2D Design to describe how a piece is to be performed. The performance can be sound, movement or both. Visual scores open up possibilities by allowing performers the freedom to work outside traditional boundaries. Performers may interpret the score individually or as a group. Workshop participants will interpret existing scores and create their own scores. Please bring an instrument or sound-making object.

Pesto with Andrea Mason
If you think ‘basil, pine nuts and cheese’ when you hear pesto, you’re in for a delicious surprise. Pesto actually means ‘paste,’ and can be made with many different ingredients. We’ll make a Spinach Pepito Pesto and a Vegan Cilantro Pesto that uses nutritional yeast for a great flavor without dairy. Then, we’ll move on to make two vegetable pates – Carrot with walnuts, and Mushroom with cashews. You’ll hardly dirty a pan, and have some great dips to take to your next pot luck.
